ADAMSON ROAD
The St Mungo Association's brief is to accommodate single homeless people. They had owned these adjoining properties for a number of years,
where they provided their residents with a degree of psychiatric support. St Mungo's asked us to provide an 'activities centre' to be shared
with some other hostels, so that their residents would benefit from the training and recreational facilities on offer, which might help
them rebuild their lives. It took us nearly four years to obtain consent for this little timber cedar-clad building, as the local council
were extremely worried about the effects of the development. In the event there have been no complaints from any of the neighbours since
the
centre opened. |
