ST ALFEGE PASSAGE, SE10
This small town house was built in the seventies by an architect who clearly
had a thing about spiral staircases. Our clients, both designers, had lived
in it for ten years and had had enough of cylindrical vertical circulation.
They were able to borrow a house for the three months it took us to
completely rebuild the inside of this one around a new open tread Flow-Forge
North Sea oil rig staircase. This gained them about 12 square metres and
enabled us to fit in half an additional floor and make a bridge connection
to the garden at the same time. |
